Some of the standard safety features include 7 standard air bags and tire pressure monitoring. All models also feature seating for up to 7, with a flat-folding third row seat and forward folding second row for extra storage space. An upgrade to the SXT Plus will see an upgrade in interior features of the 2015 Durango, such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel. With an upgrade to the Limited, R/T, and Citadel models, some of the features you can expect are an 8.4-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, heated second row seats, a heated steering wheel, a power liftgate, exterior mirrors with memory and turn signals, a rear backup camera, and remote start. For additional safety, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection are also available.2015 Dodge Durango Eco FeaturesThe 2015 Dodge Durango has a standard Eco Mode for its 8-speed automatic transmission. Eco Mode optimizes shift quality and shift points in the V-6, as well as throttle in the V-8. This assists the transmission in operating at a lower RPM to provide the Durango with a better fuel economy. While the Durango defaults to Eco Mode when started, this feature can be turned off by pressing the Eco Mode button.Another Feature both engines provide to the 2015 Durango that is meant to give better fuel economy and performance is the Variable Valve Timing (VVT). The structure, exhaust system, and intake systems receive computer-assisted engineering to vary the intake valve timing. This allows the engine to recycle energy instead of rejecting it as heat, reducing engine effort and improving combustion. As a result, the Durango’s engine has a better efficiency and power. What makes the 2015 Dodge Durango an ecodiesel in DFW Metroplex is a combination of the Eco Mode transmission and its ability to only use half of its cylinders when needed. The Durango will automatically deactivate 4 of its cylinders when all 8 are not needed, such as when hitting 40 to 60 mph speeds on the highway, or for lighter loads. The Durango uses advanced computer technology and electronic throttle control to quickly and seamlessly change the engine from a V-8 to a more fuel efficient 4-cylinder vehicle. Fuel efficiency is also improved in the V-8 model of Durango through the interactive deceleration fuel-shut off (IDFSO) feature, which halts fuel delivery when the vehicle is coasting.
